Bill Wood and Fredrik Ness Sevendal have joined forces again and recorded an opus for guitars and effects.

Their previous collaboration was the LP "Song of Degrees" (Humbug records/apartment records, 2003), so it's high time for a new release.
"New Maps Across the Dark", as the title suggests, leads the listener on a path through 7 long tracks of eery darkness. Some of the tracks gives the impression of a long slow journey through dark passages of mist, while other tracks lean more towards a trip through psychedelic, but ominous forest landscapes.

As with other cinematic music, the album is best enjoyed as a deep listening experience. (It also works well as background music, totally up the listener of course).
Bill Wood is an avant garde guitarist from the New Zealand underground music scene and has been active since AD 79. He has released a goods shelf of records with his project 1/3 Octave Band and other bands as Birdcatcher and as an occasional member of The Stumps and Birchville Cat Motel.

Fredrik Ness Sevendal (FNS) has been active in the Norwegian underground scene since the early 90s with bands like Slowburn, DEL, Kobi and the last years more active as a solo artist (FNS) and member of the duo Garden Tapes and various collaborations.

Bill and Fredrik live on different sides of the globe, so the album was conceived by sending tracks to each other and adding overdubs. Good old tape swapping method, though digital transfers this time. The album was mastered by the famous (and thoroughly nice guy) Marcus Wilson at AA Masters.
